Starring: Christian Fail, Heath Ledger, Aaron Eckhart, Michael Caine and that girl who replaced Katie Holmes. This film is the Godfather Part II of Superhero films.
Before I go any further, YES I am a huge fan of Batman, he has been my favourite superhero since age 6, but that does not mean that I have rated this movie highly because I am biased, I am actually a fan who has extremely high expectations, and the Dark Knight simply does not disappoint.
This film has it all, it is a dark, action packed film, with a hint of romance and comedy. And when I say dark, I mean it. There were a few scenes where I had my hand over my mouth, with my eyes half shut in tension. As for Heath Ledger’s performance as the Joker, it was “explosive”. In my view his performance was better and scarier than of Sir Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lector in The Silence of the Lambs. This film is a true crime epic and so far the dark Knight is a must see film.
8/10 for me
I beg to differ that Heath Ledger’s performance as the Joker was scarier than Sir Anthony Hopkins performance as Hannibal Lector in The Silence of the Lambs. When I finished watching TSOTL I was extremely frightened to leave the cinema and walk down the dark streets back to my car because I didn't want to end up on someone's plate with some fava beans!

ReplyDeleteDark Knight is good but I would have to watch it again to rate it since the only thing I seem to remember is that awesome car, or bike, or some damn vehicle that freaked me out at the time. See I watched really close didn't I? Heath though was the standout. And Christian Bale, yeah I saw what called him up there, looked tasty and is the very reason he is THE best Batman.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with 'the BOFA', Hannibal Lector is nuts, the joker knows what he is doing, also I have to say that while Heath Ledger was a standout perfermoance it may not have even been the best joker in history....Oh Yeah I went there!
ReplyDeleteThe Robbers from Home Alone were scarier than the joker!
